Thanks to the incredible generosity of hospitals and partners in Scotland, life-changing therapy equipment is packed and ready to begin its journey to Ghana. These resources will support children at the Smiles for Speech Early Learning & Care Center and will also be shared with local hospitals so even more children can benefit.

The only thing standing in the way is transportation.

As National Speech-Language-Hearing Month comes to a close, we're reflecting on just how far this journey has brought us. 💛

The launch of the Smiles for Speech Early Learning and Care Center in Tamale, Ghana is more than the opening of a center—it is a testament to the power of speech-language pathologists and the belief that communication is a human right.

We are deeply grateful to the speech-language pathologists who have trusted our mission from the very beginning, serving alongside us in communities around the world and helping us turn a dream into reality. Their dedication reminds us that communication is not a luxury—it is fundamental to health, connection, education, and dignity.

From Scotland to Tamale 💛

Dear friends, we are incredibly grateful to the Children’s Services Department at NHS Orkney for donating over $7,000 worth of pediatric OT/PT equipment to support children at the Smiles for Speech Early Learning & Care Center in Ghana.

Here's the hard part. We need your help getting it to Ghana 🇬🇭 🙏🏾💛.

These resources will support children with developmental disabilities and communication differences in a region where access to therapy equipment remains extremely limited.

We are currently seeking sponsors, grants, shipping partners, and donors to help us bring this equipment home to the children who need it most.

Thank you, Dr. Jackie, for donating our new resting mats required by Social Welfare in Ghana as we prepare for enrollment as a preschool in collaboration with the Smiles for Speech Early Learning and Care Center! 💛✨

These mats are an important part of creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally supportive environment for the children and families we will serve in Tamale.
