Canvas of Change: Stories of climate, displacement & resilience is on now at UN Headquarters in New York, open Monday–Friday 9–5 through July 10.

The exhibition brings together paintings, indigenous adornment, animation, and digital work from ICAAD's Artivist-in-Residence program, exploring environmental degradation and the climate crisis, discrimination and belonging, colonialism, and migration, and how art can hold space for accountability and collective healing.

On June 19 at 12 PM, don't miss the opportunity to join award-winning artist Vishavjit Singh for an artist talk and tour of the exhibition.

To visit the exhibit, you'll need to register in advance on the UN's official platform at least 24 hours before your visit. When you arrive, you can collect your visitor badge at the security office across the street from the main entrance before proceeding through building security.

You can find the full details and registration instructions here: icaad.ngo/un-art-exhibit.

There are still a few spots available in our two-day course, Frames: Human Rights for Impact.

Human rights is a language used all over the place. Knowing it and knowing how to leverage it for advocacy are two different things.

In Frames: Human Rights for Impact, we develop agility with the language, frameworks, and mechanisms of human rights to bring us closer to justice on the issues we care about. You'll leave with a practical Advocacy Roadmap, grounded in strategy, built for an issue you're already fighting for.

Enrollment closes on 18 June 2026, so reserve your spot today. If the scholarship link is still open, scholarships are still available. Learn more here: https://humanrightsedu.icaad.ngo/frames

Visit the Canvas of Change exhibition today at the UN Headquarters in New York to meet two of the artists behind it.

On June 12 at 4pm, you can join Namita Kulkarni and Vishavjit Singh for a rare artist talk. Namita's "Colonialism & the Climate Crisis" includes paintings that will push your thinking in ways only art can, and you can hear the story behind Vishavjit's award-winning film, American Sikh.

Are you leveraging human rights law in your work? Human rights is a language, a framework, and the grounding for regional and international institutions. It’s not always the same as justice defined by our communities, but it’s a tool we can and should be agile with to bring us closer to the futures we’re building.

Join the next course in the Advocacy Essentials Certificate program, Frames: Human Rights for Impact. In this two-day course, you'll learn how to read international human rights frameworks, connect them to the issues you're fighting for, and build an Advocacy Roadmap that's grounded in power analysis.

Past participants have come from all over the world, including activists, artists, NGO workers, lawyers, and academics. What they all share is a desire to sharpen their tools. Let’s get to work.

Enrollment closes 18 June 2026. The course costs $250 USD, and scholarships are available. Learn more here: https://humanrightsedu.icaad.ngo/frames

ICAAD’s Artivists in Residence have surfaced lost histories, drawn out the roots of our shared struggles, held space for collective healing, and explained the edges of our belonging and identities to help us all better see each other.

From June 5th to July 10th, the stories our Artivists fought for decades to have heard will be displayed inside the United Nations Headquarters, and we would love for you to visit them.

Canvas of Change is on view at the Main Lobby Gallery, UN Headquarters, New York, from June 5 through July 10, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Entry to the exhibit and the main lobby is free.

To visit, you must register in advance on the UN's official platform. Register here: https://indico.un.org/event/1014617/

The UN requires registration at least 24 hours before your visit. When you arrive, collect your visitor badge at the security office across the street from the main entrance before proceeding through building security. We hope to see you there!
