👀 We’ve got another event this month!!

Join Souls in Focus on Saturday June 20th for a photo tour at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. Participants will join Souls in Focus and Schomburg staff to view curated images from the library’s collection from photographers such as James Van Der Zee, Marilyn Nance, and Malick Sidibé. Participants will also learn more about the historical significance of the Schomburg and its public resources in relation to Harlem and New York City.

We will meet off-site at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. The curated tours begin at 12:00 pm. Following the tours, participants are encouraged to bring their own cameras to document the surroundings of Schomburg and the Harlem community.

Souls in Focus is a collective and creative agency that inspires, educates, and connects visual artists. We create opportunities to express ourselves, grow an evolving network, and enhance our abilities to build artistic legacies.

Through the years we’ve hosted photowalks, workshops, and meetups for creatives of various mediums to connect, fellowship, and create together, but it’s been a lil’ minute since we’ve been outside…

On Saturday May 23rd, we’re back outsideee ☀️☀️This time, in collaboration with the wonderful folks at and we’ll be hosting a Photo Tour. Led by WHC’s Education team, the afternoon will start off with tours of the historic homes, followed by a photographic exploration of their grounds. Weeksville Heritage Center is dedicated to the preservation of Weeksville, one of America’s first free Black community in during the pre-civil war era and we’re excited to have them share space with us.

We recommend bringing your favorite camera, your favorite people, and good vibes!

RSVP link is in our bio! We can’t wait to see you all!

Seven years ago, when we founded Souls in Focus with the mission of inspiring, educating and connecting creatives through different avenues we actually didn’t fully fathom the massive impact that this would have on our community.

We’ve had countless meetups and events, community-driven partnerships, and unforgettable stories shared, but nothing will compare to the love and connection grown with each and every one of you.

Our passionate founders and leadership team have spent years growing as humans, creatives, and friends which is a blessing that we cherish dearly. However, as time has flowed and life has changed for us all, the structure of our team has as well…

With that, we are excited and thrilled to announce that our Co-Founder, Sade Fasanya will be taking full ownership and leadership of Souls in Focus moving forward. Sade has shown immense love, dedication, and integrity for Souls and will continue to fulfill our original mission with this new era of our collective and she has our full gratitude and support. Co-Founders Natiah Jones and Henry Danner will remain strategic advisors and investors in Souls while our fearless team Naeem, Lauren, and Kedrick will become creative consultants.

This is a beautiful moment of growth for Souls in Focus and we cannot wait to have you all continue on this journey with us. Stay tuned for events coming around in the Spring 🖤

With Love,
From Souls
