As August comes to a close, so does an incredibly meaningful chapter for us.
Since April, we’ve had the honor of collaborating with The Museum of Modern Art’s Creativity Lab through Make a Portrait. This was a season filled with photography, storytelling, experimentation, conversation, and community. Over these past few months, we’ve shared our individual practices, learned from one another, welcomed new perspectives, and created space to reflect on what it means to make images of ourselves, of each other, and of the communities we call home.
From workshops and artist conversations to hands-on creative experiences and learning at cultural institutions, this collaboration gave us the opportunity to bring the spirit of Souls in Focus into a new space—and to continue building the kind of creative community that has always been at the heart of who we are.
We’re deeply grateful to everyone who showed up, participated, shared their stories, made photographs, asked questions, listened, encouraged, and helped make these past few months so special. A very special thank you to the Learning & Engagement team at MoMA The Museum of Modern Art for welcoming us into this space and supporting our vision.
