To All Veterans,

As we approach the July 4th holiday in which people celebrate in various ways, we must mention the New York City Budget recently agreed upon by the New York City Council and Mayor Eric Adams on Friday 30 June 2023.

Let’s examine the proposed budget. The Mayor and the City Council have agreed to restore some much need services that are clearly vital to the City’s vibrant economy which has been commendable.

But, it has once again failed to show any respect to military veterans in this city in the last twenty years. Veterans have continued to be the brunt of the lack of funding in the last two administrations.

One, helping veterans with legal, housing, and employment opportunities that have been nonexistent way to long. The clearly doesn’t respect any veteran because the Mayor nor the NYC Council are ever pushing to secure fair and equitable treatment of veterans that have risked their lives to maintain the freedoms enjoyed today.

The only thing that can be said by this blatant level of disrespect is they don’t give a damn about it’s constituents that live in this city as with all others.

We know how the Mayor feels as he authorized moving veterans out of a hotel where they were residing to make room for MIGRANTS who are NOT even officially documented residents but though it wouldn’t make a difference by moving veterans out of a residential facility where they’re attempting to sustain themselves. SHAME ON YOU MAYOR ADAMS AND THE NEW YORK CITY COUNCIL!!!!

HIGHLY UNACCEPTABLE !!!!

When will the disrespect stop 🛑?? When will someone on City Council say enough is enough and we must start taking care of our collective military veterans, especially the elderly veterans who’ve have many issues.

As we approach another holiday and many get prepared to have several cook outs, enjoy family gatherings, connecting with friends, etc, will still await the noncompliance and lack of commitment of our political constituents to raise the bar and assist our coveted heroes with funding commitments.

We remain dissatisfied, disappointed, and disenfranchised by the ignorance of our politicians and their back door deal making that continues to blindside our veteran population across the city.

It’s time we select politicians that are going to help move the mantle forward who care about the plight of veterans in the city and across the country. Be careful who you vote for because if their interests don’t coincide with the values you’re advocating for, it will change nothing!!! Hold their feet to the fire and make sure they have your best interest.

Happy 4th of July and God Bless our Veterans!!!

06/19/2023

Good day all Veterans,

First and foremost, I’d like to wish all my father’s a Happy Father’s Day to them and their families.

Second, I’d like to wish all my veteran constituents of Black and Brown skin a Happy Juneteenth Day as it approaches.

African Americans in this country have served this country, sacrificed their lives and have created thousands of inventions this country uses today which have been taken for granted.

Furthermore, many have given much to society in the form education, medical science, entrepreneurship, Business innovations, the arts and sciences are still having to fight in 2023 for fair and equitable treatment in housing, employment, scholarships, to include VA Disability Ratings which to this point has marginalized many African American service members seeking the same rating as their contemporaries.

We need a standard that represents all veterans equally across the board. This has been furtherest from the truth.

It is unfortunate as Juneteenth comes upon us, we are regrettably still being marginalized in various industries, albeit local, state and federal entities without full reciprocity into the indignities that continue to plague African American veterans that have served this country since its inception.

Their are continuous claims that work is being conducted to change the landscape but if the so-called political constituents who are supposedly to be removing such stigmas are the very ones involved in the current climate, then change is just a loaded word to incentivize the public into non action.

We’re the lone superpower on the planet 🌎 as other countries are rapidly gaining traction as we’ve become rooted in marginalized growth, albeit in education, technology, medical advancements, mathematics, biological transformations, computerized technology, as well as artificial intelligence.

These have become the strengths and backbone of many countries but we must learn to change the narrative so that advancements are physically seen instead of being a backdrop for a political speech.

Without further ado, I wish all veterans a Happy Father’s Day as well as a Happy Juneteenth Day and many more.

God Bless our Veterans!!!!!

Good Afternoon Veterans,

As we approach the eve of Memorial Day in this country, know that there is so much work needing to be done in helping our veterans.

The lack of a strong housing preference specifically for veterans who’ve sacrificed their lives to support the freedoms of which you enjoy today.

Many of our so-called political constituents particularly in New York City have made a decision of not pushing for equitable standards whether it be in a bill to provide enhanced funding for jobs, housing, and creating viable business opportunities for this elite class of citizens.

We haven’t seen any politicians in more than 30 years take a stance in the New York City Council provide anything sustainable or of sustenance in seeking preferential treatment to veterans in this city.

As a 28 year combat veteran myself I’ve witnessed the total and complete marginalization of our City Council, politicians in various capacities literally do nothing!!! Then, they have the audacity to tout their record for helping everyone in their capacity which is a complete and total lie.

As soon as you call them out on the carpet, the become defensive and claim the person doesn’t know what they’re talking about or that they’re disillusioned in their remarks.

I beg to differ as we currently have a chair of the Veterans Committee with NYC Council by the name of Robert F. Holden which doesn’t give a damn about veterans nor seeking to implement anything that would substantiate creating a bill that has definitive funding for housing, as the city just REMOVED veterans from a hotel just to satisfy accommodating entry of migrants coming into the city.

Unconscionably unacceptable!!!

I’m not certain what anyone thinks but to REMOVE ANY VETERAN from ANY HOUSING capacity is 100% WRONG!!!!

This is why these politicians have always lied their way into being voted into their office. We get bamboozled thinking they’re going make changes for the better but do just the opposite.

We don’t want people constantly telling us “Thank you for your service” then doing nothing to provide for any veteran, i.e, albeit, preferential treatment they rightfully deserve in housing vouchers, sustainable legal assistance, funding for them to start their own business, ensuring no veterans have their homes 🏡 foreclosed by the banks, securing a greater focus on tracking veterans in a collective NYC database of which can literally track veterans for 30, 60, 90, 120 days plus on their progress or the lack thereof.

None of this has ever been considered, and if it had, wasn’t discussed with the major veteran organizations in the city.

The failure of the Mayor of New York City and the City Council has left many to move out and retreat further south with the expectation of receiving a more favorable outcome from the southern states as a caveat to the inconsistency of New York City politics.

Until this a city has a major turnaround and shift in the political landscape when approaching veteran issues, they will continue to receive a grade of “F” for the lack of fundamental leadership concerning the veteran population in this city and the state.

Everyone is watching as the response continues to fall short of any viable solutions to date. Shame on your New York City.

Happy Memorial Day to all Veterans Past & Present!!!!

05/17/2023

Good evening Veterans Association of America , Inc. and all veterans across the country but particularly in New York City.

The political landscape here has completely disrespected, disregarded and completely ignored veterans for more than 30 years as I’ve witnessed as an educated senior in my mid sixties.

From the State of New York to the Mayor of New York City as well as the dubious NY City Council Members that have recklessly and purposely decided to ignore vital provisions that could’ve easily allowed veterans the preferential rights atop a listing of housing openings, employment opportunities as well eliminating the entire homeless population of veterans collectively.

Now we hear of the City of New York putting illegal immigrants/migrants atop the “housing” ladder and pushing veterans who have already been staying in requisite housing hotels out on the streets mainly to acquire $90 dollars more in city revenue from these so-called migrants above those who’ve risked their lives to maintain the bed of freedoms that each person in this city enjoys daily.

It’s a complete abomination and a travesty to see that Mayor has agreed to this process because of the lack of care for veterans in this city and state. Absolutely unacceptable!!!

I continue to be highly disappointed of the rationale and thought process that has blinded many of the political constituents in this city.

I’m born and raised in Harlem and have enjoyed much of the transformative growth but don’t appreciate the forced urban removal taken place to meet the so-called expectations of this iconic area of New York City.

Suffice to say, growth as seen by those with the financial resources of take away some of the resiliency formally associated with this landmark location. Housing opportunities for veterans and immunities surrounding urban neighborhoods have forced many under the financial thresholds are forced or either pushed out unceremoniously.

We are working on establishing housing in various loca around the city of which veterans are the main focal point of our mission. But the fact is if the political landscape decides to disavow and or treat veterans as chattel of which have been viewed by the most recent event of forcing veterans out of hotel 🏨 to make room for migrants outside of this country is not only inconceivably unacceptable but purely evil as hell!!!

Please stay with us as we endeavor to take on the City of New York and it’s rogue politicians that sit in their ivory towers looking down upon those not only less fortunate but fought to sustain to democracy of freedoms that exist today.

We urge and compel your support in admonishing the cronies that care less of veterans equally as much as they do of those in urban neighborhoods.

Stand with us and support our quest to meet our goals of creating better housing strictly for veterans along with employment opportunities to sustain their families like everyone else.

God Bless Our Veterans Always!!

To All Veterans,

We must take the time to first acknowledge Juneteenth Day (19 June 2022) two years after the Emancipation Proclamation for this country that took place in Galveston, Texas in 1865.

We, as Black and Brown soldiers as well as people in general don't get the credit in this country we rightfully deserve. It continues to be a struggle for housing, jobs, educational equity, and once hired in a position with a company you wind up earning less than your contemporaries with the same, if not more education, experience and talent simply because of the color of one's skin.

Let's not pretend these idiosyncratic behaviors don't continue to go on in this country which are still fueled by the social classing system better known as the "Cast System." The talent pool has been severely marginalized for hundreds of years without the slightest inkling of change in equitable employment, albeit senior level and C Suite level positions in any industry.

The fight and the struggle continues whether it be military veterans or race marginalization also known as "institutional racism" at its best that still exists today as we celebrate the history of Africans and African Americans throughout the globe that have contributed mightily in all walks of life.

Until true empirical equality is achieved, this country and the globe will never be at peace until physical changes emanates in the full acknowledgement of people of color is instituted. The deprecating behaviors that have continued to raise their trifling heads have profusely destroyed the moral fabricate in this county and across the globe without conscious or remuneration of our 40 acres that have yet to be awarded people of color since slavery. we don't need the mule but the 40 acres would definitely suffice.

Keep this in mind, Black and Brown veterans even in the military in high ranking positions make up roughly 2 to 3% of the total force in the Army. In others branches such as the Navy for example, it's even less. So, as the slogan goes, "you can make a difference" is just that to get more people of color to join and then become marginalized in that industry as well. Change, as I mentioned earlier in this content, can only come about when equitable representation has a equal voice toward the same goal(s). It's really that simple!!! Please think about the message not the messenger.

Blessing to all our veterans and our Black and Brown veterans that have been forgotten for so long, we hear you pain and struggle. Happy Juneteenth Day which is everyday in the life and times of darker hued citizens around the country and the globe fighting for equality. Thank you.

Good Day To All My Veterans Across the Globe:

Blessings to you and your families as we wish you a Happy Father's Day in advance. We're living in an economic crisis that has hurts many families across the country, mainly our veteran community.

Please don't allow yourselves to bottles up any feelings of despair, thoughts of su***de, drinking, drug or alcohol to deter you from living your best life. You are very special whether you think so or not. The world needs people like you to encourage others to get the help they need.

We all have some sort of issues or problems, albeit big or small. Don't let issues consume you and take control of your life and create bigger medical problems. Never be embarrassed about seeking medical help such as psychiatric counseling, therapeutic consultation, or any other concern that may be causing you great discomfort.

Veterans are the backbone of every community as I've said many times before as we have the knack to filter information and decipher what's best for citizens within their neighborhoods. Veterans are a vital lifeline connecting communities in understanding what they've had to deal with.

Let's not only celebrate them twice a year on Memorial Day and Veterans Day, celebrate them everyday they are on this earth and part of our society at large. respect and try to understand their struggles by not just saying "thank you for your service" by providing them and incentive that will help them and their families sustain and survive in this tumultuous economy moving forward.

We look to all citizens to acknowledge the sacrifices of mind, body and soul they've endured to sustain our democracy for many years. Don't treat them as aliens, foreigners, or isolate them but embrace them as they too can teach you something about life and it's many trials and tribulations.

God Bless Our Veterans!!! Thank you

To All Veterans:

The struggle isn't over as many others continue to prop up along the way. Our resiliency can whether any storm forecasted our way.

We must maintain a high level of confidence that the VAA is continuing to work on providing a better future for our veterans. You're not alone in this contemptuous journey that has forced us to make several changes in mid flight. I'm pushing to make that change.

You are never forgotten by us and will always be apart of our larger family. They say art imitates life in various forms of our journey and you're not the only one as it may appear.

We will weather the storm and rise again in getting the country to recognize our true essence of solidarity. We're ferocious, dedicated, and uncompromising when it comes to our stability and sustainability as it must be taken serious by our politicians that have completely forgotten what it means to have "honor, respect, loyalty, and most of all integrity.

We may not get all we want but 80% is a start. Let's force them to make it happen and stop them from closing down our VA Hospitals in Manhattan and Brooklyn of New York City and anywhere else around this country. Show them this is an unconscionable decision to even think of.

Your Truly,

Veterans Association of America, Inc.

Good evening to all my veterans,

We are currently living in some dangerous times when it comes to our health. Please take all precautions and protect yourself by wearing a mask and gloves (latex rubber gloves). The better you protect against germs and other bacteria, the safer you and your family will be in the long run.

PLease do not take this virus/bacteria lightly as it has killed a lot of people, some of who I knew as well. I want you veterans to be around for a long time to come. Also, keep socially distant (6 Feet apart) when out amongst others people as it will show the level of respect you have for yourself as well as others. Take care and enjoy your weekend.

To all Black and Brown people of African Ancestry we’d like to wish all of you a Happy Juneteenth Day. May all of your families relish in the fact that you will always be special to us at the Veterans Association of America, Inc.
This holiday was initiated by General Gordon Granger on June 19, 1865, reading federal orders in the city of Galveston, Texas, proclaiming all slaves in Texas were now free.
Although the Emancipation Proclamation has formally freed them almost two and a half years earlier of which ended the Civil War by defeating the Confederate States that wanted slaves as long as possible. Galveston, TX was the first location in which those federal orders were read.
The current crisis of how police 👮‍♀️ around the country has failed to acknowledge the respect, courtesy and proper dissemination of professionalism and dealing with communities of color have literally taken us back to the political and social ills of our white constituents across the country.
By celebrating our ancestors and family lineages gives us hope of creating a mutually respectful climate in which others outside of Black and Brown communities can potentially look 👀 forward to.
But, it must start NOW throughout all local, state, and federal entities in order for this to work in a collective manner.
Please stay vigilant as we celebrate 🎉 our heritage and lineage by setting goals of achievement in the immediate future. Thank you and God Bless Our People.

Galant US Marines risked their lives in the Hue province of Vietnam back in 1968. Many lives were lost in this horrific battle for command and control as the Vietcong were a well trained group that refused to give or give in from pressure in the US.
Their dedication and gallantry was well documented by many who’ve witnessed or were a part of the firefights that had taken place.
Now many of these and other veterans need our assistance in sustaining themselves economically and financially.
Won’t you please donate to help these veterans receive a better way of life from the annals of homelessness, poverty and seclusion by going to www.vetsaa.org and placing your donation as we come upon Memorial Day across the country.
If we’re to honor these veterans of all branches, we must do so by showing that we are a giving society as we have been on many disasters on the globe.
Make this one equally as important as any other you’ve donated to in the past. Veterans will always thank those for pledging their financial gifts. God Bless Our Veterans.
