As for the upcoming Fall/Spring 2016/17 semester, KULN East Coast is looking for credible candidates to take part as a team in reaching our club's goal. We will work together to accomplish our mission in uniting Malaysian students in the U.S generally, and in the East Coast specifically through various events. To achieve that, your interest and talent is needed. Hence, here is the form that you can fill should you think you are the ones that we are looking for.

How is spring break going for everyone? Ours has been going pretty good, so we hope that all of you have had some great time and experience.

This time, let's get to know our current Treasurer, Achmad Bakhtiar M Yuni.

"Assalamualaikum and hi! I usually go by Bakhtiar and am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Biology at Rutgers University, New Jersey. Being a second-year student in the United States, I have had a lot of amazing experience and encounters. Personally, I believe that it is important to make a lot of connections, promote interactions and give back to the community, hence my involvement with KULN US East Coast. On a side note, I enjoy reading, cooking, traveling and writing. I look forward to meeting you all and exchange our thoughts and ideas on a variety of topics and issues."

Bakhtiar is also a part of the US East Coast Presidential Council (EPIC), so you might have seen him before at one of the events that have been recently held.

Hello to all of you out there from our current Secretary, Shahirah Mohd Taib!

"I am a friendly person and I love meeting new people. Coming to my strength, I am a fast learner. When it comes to work, I am a hardworking person. Also, I am a great team player who always up for new challenges. With that being said, I look forward to be part of this organization. I hope I could be of any help to contribute something for a better organization."

Shahirah, or Shasha is currently majoring in Finance at Temple University. If you attended the recent Philadelphia Malaysian Night at Drexel University, you might have seen her among the committee.

Shasha, and all of us from KULN US East Coast would like to remind all of you to stay warm throughout the cold winter weather, and all the best for the your mid-terms :)

The civil war in Syria has displaced millions and forced thousand of Syrians to seek shelter in Europe. Many are poor and hungry. The US East Coast Presidential Council believes that it is our moral duty to help out. Help us to help them by donating.

Dear friends,

To proceed with the Executive Board members introduction, how about getting to know the current Vice President of KULN US East Coast, Azmeer Sharipol from Rochester Institute of Technology!

"I believe that we should live life to the fullest. Therefore I would always take on new challenges and sometimes I find myself getting caught up with too much going on. The spirit of youth should always be retained, be like a child where understanding requires intense experimenting and a lot of laughter."

Azmeer is currently a junior, majoring in Biotechnology at RIT. Fun fact: he owns 2 cute guinea pigs, one called Iman and the other called Nami. He looks forward to meeting with you all during our upcoming events!

Starting from today, we will be introducing the KULN East Coast Executive Board members of the 2015-2016 session on a regular interval.

To get it started, let us get to know a little bit more about our current president, Nabil Fikri Abdul Rahman from Pennsylvania State University!

"As a member of Kelab UMNO US East Coast, I see the potential of this club to lead Malaysian students in in participating with Malaysia’s current issues. However, I believe this club can do more to further participation of university students in the United States.

1. My biggest initiative for this club is to diminish the perception that Kelab UMNO is a closed racial association. KULN East Coast has provided a platform for Malaysian youths as the first Kelab Umno to have Chinese and Indians in the cabinet. I intend to further this new wave.

2. In my opinion, I see a Malaysian community where not everyone is given the opportunity to share their thoughts. I value the different opinions of the diverse community within Malaysia.
Therefore, I see weekly forums on socioeconomic and political issues of Malaysia as critical for our mode of progress.

My name is Nabil Fikri from Pennsylvania State University. I am a scrumhalf on the rugby field. I push myself to the limit every day. In pain, I know it important to keep going. The hard fought victories are the ones most worth fighting for. And Kelab UMNO US East Coast is a hardship I intend to see victorious."
