Building strong communities takes strong partnerships — and Teamsters Local 282 and its signatory contractors are helping build the future of New York.
At this years 1st Annual Teamsters Local 282 Truck Show at Nassau Coliseum, David Hance, owner of New York Boom Trucks in Lawrence, NY, shared his pride in being a Teamsters Local 282 signatory contractor and supporting an event that brings union members, contractors, families, and the next generation of workers together.
From concrete and heavy construction to trucking and boom operations, the event showcased the specialized equipment, skilled workforce, training, and career opportunities that help keep New York moving.
Just as important, events like this give young men and women an opportunity to see these careers firsthand. As experienced members retire, introducing the next generation to union construction and trucking careers is critical to maintaining the highly trained workforce our communities depend on.
New York Boom Trucks and Local 282’s signatory contractors demonstrate what strong labor-management partnerships can accomplish: creating career pathways, promoting safety, investing in skilled workers, and supporting the communities where their members live and work.
A great day for union labor. A great day for the next generation. And a great example of what can happen when unions and responsible contractors work together.
