For every $1 invested in protecting and restoring nature, the world spends $30 destroying it. Governments and businesses must urgently shift finance away from nature-destroying activities and invest in working with nature, not against it.

Chimpanzees play a vital role in keeping forest ecosystems diverse and thriving. Without them and their fellow great apes, forests would be forever changed.

Some quick facts about chimps:

They are our closest relatives in the animal kingdom. We share more than 98% of our DNA.

Chimps are not monkeys: they are great apes, which means no tails and bigger brains.

Thanks to the work of United Nations Messenger of Peace Dr. Jane Goodall know that chimps use tools, show empathy, and live in complex social groups.

But they face serious threats, from deforestation to wildlife trafficking. Let’s protect them, their forests, and their future.

According to a new ‌World Meteorological Organization report, Asia is warming nearly twice as fast as the global average.

In 2024, heatwaves gripped a record area of the ocean, with sea surface temperatures the highest on record, fueling more extreme weather and wreaking a heavy toll on the region’s economies, ecosystems, and societies.
