It's THIS SUNDAY, JUNE 28TH! March with us in the NYC Pride Parade! 🌈❤️

The Lutheran churches of Manhattan will have a booth, table and tent at the PrideFest. We are looking for volunteers to help staff our table, which will run throughout the afternoon along 4th Ave (from 14th St to Astor Place) following the march. This morning during Worship, we celebrated Pastor Jacobi's 45th Ordination Anniversary! She was ordained on June 21, 1981 at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Garden City, Michigan.

We thank God for her and her 45 years of faithful ministry of word and sacrament and her devotion and love for our Saint Luke's family since 2008. She is seen here today with Pastor Strasser and Assisting Minister and Council President Mike Brouwer.

Early in her ministry she served congregations across the greater New York metropolitan area. After receiving advanced training in social work and psychotherapy, Dr. Jacobi worked for Lutheran and Episcopal counseling agencies before eventually establishing a private pastoral psychotherapy practice in New York City. She chaired our Synod’s candidacy committee, guiding candidates on the journey to become pastors. Dr. Jacobi has applied trauma-informed care in several major humanitarian settings. Her publications span both psychotherapy and pastoral theology.

To mark the day, the congregation gave her a gift of a painting of Saint Luke writing his gospel, by Le Valentin, 1625.
