Today I visited Central Park. I was disappointed to learn that every year Mother Nature doesn't provide enough snow, the Park Conservatory makes their own. As I was watching the fake snow be shot into the air, a man explained to his daughter "this is snow," and told her to smile. Rather than try to control the Earth, we should take care of it, so our seasons will once again occur with some degree of regularity. As we continue to waste water and expend energy, children like her will have to hear stories of when snow fell from the sky, rather than be shot out of hoses.
