Every year in Spain, tens of thousands of Spanish Greyhounds, known as galgos, are bred and exploited for hare coursing — a cruel hunting “tradition” that subjects these gentle dogs to horrific suffering.
Many galgos endure torturous training methods, deliberate starvation, violence, and extreme abuse. Some are even tortured because of the superstitious belief that greater suffering will bring better luck in the next hunting season. And when they are no longer considered “useful,” countless galgos are abandoned or brutally killed.
We have to continue standing together to demand change.
Here’s how you can help protect galgos:
❤️ Support our partner, SOS GALGOS (oficial), the Spain-based organization fighting to protect galgos and other dogs exploited for hunting through rescue, advocacy, education, and legislative change.
📣 Share this post. Share similar content. Talk about galgos. Public awareness creates public pressure — and the more people who know what is happening, the harder it becomes for Spain’s leaders to ignore calls for stronger protections and an end to hare coursing.
