Today is National Feral Cat Day, a day to recognize feral kitties AND the incredible people who show up for them every single day. ❤️🐈

For truly feral cats who are not candidates for traditional adoption because of their extreme fear and discomfort around humans, Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) provides a humane way to connect them with essential care while preventing future litters.

Our goal will always be for every cat to have a safe, loving indoor home. As we work toward that goal, TNR helps reduce suffering now while humanely reducing feral cat populations over time.

While SPCA International and countless animal welfare organizations support and fund TNR efforts, so much of this work is also carried out by incredibly dedicated volunteers who give their own time, money, and resources to help cats in need.

We are endlessly grateful for community cat caregivers and TNR volunteers everywhere. ❤️

We are closer than EVER to officially ending NYC’s cruel and unsafe horse carriage industry, and we are unbelievably excited to celebrate the amazing activists, legislators, and animal advocates who have made this moment possible!

We can't wait to see you there. And, don't forget, you can still email your Council Member to help ensure that they plan to vote 'YES' on Intro 943 / Romanch's Law (the legislation that will ban horse carriages in NYC) on October 22nd!

⚠️ GRAPHIC IMAGES: PINOT’S LEG MUST BE AMPUTATED AFTER EXTREME CRUELTY. Please help us cover the cost of his surgery!!

Someone deliberately skinned Pinot’s leg, mutilated his paw, and dumped him on the street to die alone. Now, his veterinary team has determined that his entire back leg must be amputated to give him the best chance at healing.

We will do whatever it takes to help Pinot live free from pain, and we refuse to let what happened to him define the rest of his life.

Any donation, big or small, will help us cover the cost of his surgery and the months of treatment ahead. What happened to Pinot cannot be undone, but we can make sure his future looks NOTHING like his past.

Please help us give him the chance to finally know the safety, comfort, and love he should have had all along.

Thousands of community cats across Lamu, Kenya rely on dedicated local caregivers and veterinary teams to stay healthy and safe. That’s why we’re so proud to welcome Lamu Animal Welfare Clinic as a new SPCA International partner and support their ongoing Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) efforts with a grant through our Shelter Support Program. 🐈❤️

The Lamu Animal Welfare Clinic team provides sterilization, vaccinations, and veterinary care for community cats throughout the Lamu Archipelago, while also working with local communities to promote the compassionate and humane treatment of animals.

We’re so honored to stand alongside Lamu Animal Welfare Clinic as they continue creating lasting change for cats and communities across the region.

Pinot was abandoned on the street after someone deliberately skinned and partially removed his back leg. We are outraged and heartbroken to see Pinot suffering and in agony, and we're doing everything we can to help him recover. Pinot did NOTHING to deserve this.

Now, Pinot desperately needs veterinary treatment. We want nothing more than to see him heal and begin a new life free from pain.

⚠️ Warning: Graphic images.

These transformations are exactly why we’re so proud to support our longtime partner, BETA (Beirut for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), with a grant through our Shelter Support Program. ❤️

Each year, BETA helps nearly 1,800 animals across Lebanon, rescuing dogs, cats, birds, primates, and other animals facing abandonment, neglect, cruelty, injury, and life-threatening circumstances.

For the animals they rescue, that support can mean urgent veterinary treatment, food, shelter, rehabilitation, ongoing care, and, whenever possible, the chance to find a safe, loving adoptive home.

BETA also sterilizes hundreds of animals each year to help prevent overpopulation and works through education and direct action to build a more compassionate future for animals throughout Lebanon.

Our grant will help sustain this lifesaving work by supporting veterinary care, medical supplies, food, and the everyday needs of rescued animals.

The animals in these photos endured so much before reaching safety. Their transformations show what dedicated rescuers can make possible when an animal in crisis is given the care, time, and support they deserve.
