A year in moments.

As we look back on 2025, each month tells a story of progress, partnership, and impact in maternal and newborn health in Uganda. From community outreach and health worker training to digital innovation and advocacy, these moments reflect the collective effort behind every life saved.

Thank you for standing with us and making all of this possible.

We gathered monthly highlights from across the year: the people, programmes, and partnerships that moved our mission forward, one step at a time.

Thank you to our teams, partners, and supporters who made each month count. Together, we continue working toward a future where no mother dies giving life. As we step into 2026, we do so with confidence and momentum.

Happy New Year, all the best for 2026. ✨🚀

Ending the year with gratitude for our community and partners.

2025 was a year of resilience and progress: from the USAID recovery and a USD 2.5M award to continued growth of Mama Rescue and frontline support.

We’re proud to have reached ~60% of our $100,000 Annual Appeal. With your support, we can close the final stretch and enter the new year strong.

“Mama Rescue saved my life — and my baby’s.”

Eunice went into labour at 1 a.m. Because she was enrolled in Mama Rescue, a boda rider arrived within minutes and got her to the hospital in time. Today, she is alive holding her healthy baby girl.

Mama Rescue is not just transport. It’s a lifeline.

👉 Our Annual Appeal goal is $100,000 by Dec 31st. Can we count on your support to ensure more mothers like Eunice can reach care?

BAMA’s 2025 Staff retreat? SO MUCH FUN. 👏

You know it was a full success when the trailer feels like a TV or Netflix show.

We’re so grateful and proud to have come this far. With the sudden USAID cut and the loss of $1.2M the year wasn’t off to a good start. But together, we’ve made it. This year’s retreat felt extra special - a BIG thank you to our fantastic team.

We just returned from Jinja, Uganda 🇺🇬

3-day retreat for the whole team. We took time to reflect on 2025, bond as a team, and get ready for an even stronger 2026. From sharing personal wins and goals, to team games and tubing on the Nile, to our annual BAMA dinner + Secret Santa. It was a meaningful time to connect, recharge, and celebrate each other.

Strong teams build strong impact, and we’re so grateful for ours.

Strengthening Newborn Survival Through a New Partnership 🫱🏽‍🫲🏿

We’re proud to announce a new partnership between BAMA and , focused on expanding lifesaving neonatal respiratory care across the Greater Masaka region.

We completed a three-day Vayu Bubble CPAP Training of Trainers, equipping midwives and nurses from Rakai, Kalisizo, and Kakuuto with hands-on skills to support newborns with respiratory distress using reliable, electricity-free technology.

Following the training, BAMA delivered and installed the first Vayu bCPAP devices and low-flow oxygen blending systems at Kalisizo Hospital, Rakai Hospital, and Butenga HCIV — ensuring that trained staff can immediately put their new skills into practice.

This partnership marks a major step toward building resilient, sustainable newborn care systems. With innovation, collaboration, and frontline empowerment, we can save more babies and strengthen the future of maternal and newborn health in Uganda.

🎉 We’ve got BIG news! 🎉

is one of 80+ awardees of Action for Women’s Health, a $250M global call to fund bold, local solutions improving women’s health.

It’s funded by Pivotal, a group of impact organizations founded by Melinda French Gates.

We’re honored to be part of this cohort — and ready to keep showing up for the communities that have trusted us from the start.

Without you this day would never be possible. To our partners, our donors, our team, and the women who make our work possible — thank you. This moment belongs to all of us.

More to come soon – once the celebrations and excitement have calmed down a little.

Highlights from the 5th National Safe Motherhood Conference in Uganda, a powerful gathering driving action for mothers and newborns.

Five of our staff presented abstracts on our Mama Rescue project, a digital innovation that aimed at strengthening emergency referral systems in the Rwenzori regions. BAMA proudly joins partners advancing safe motherhood through innovation and collaboration.

For more reality - this is today’s set-up.

Our team is in the Kyamborocha village, Bwera town council, Kasese district.

Unfortunately, the outreach has been disrupted by too much rain. The space is flooded - we’re hoping for the rain to stop soon.
