Here are some details about the sanitation's department's plan:
- Pre-deploying 579 salt spreaders Friday evening
- PLOWNYC will be activated and 1,650 plows will be dispatched when more than two inches of snow accumulates
- 135 other plows from DEP, DOT, and Parks will assist DSNY snow clearing operations
- DSNY has 303,000 tons of rock salt on hand
- Sanitation workers have been assigned to two 12-hour shifts starting Friday at 7 a.m., with 2,300 workers per shift
- All scheduled Saturday trash, recycling and organics collections are suspended because of snow clearing operations.

New York City may ban all travel in the face of an epic snow storm, the mayor said Saturday morning.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said around 11 a.m. that, "We are seriously considering a full travel ban," he said.

The city is expected to get 20 to 24 inches of snow, the mayor said, estimating 1 to 3 inches of snow per hour.

La Policía informó sobre una explosión reportada en los predios de Plaza Caparra en Guaynabo en la que resultaron heridos dos empleados de la Autoridad de Energía Eléctrica.

Se indicó que ambos presentan quemaduras por lo que estaban siendo trasladados al Centro Médico de Río Piedras.

Al momento se desconoce el lugar específico de la explosión ni las causas.

Ninguno de los empleados ha sido identificado.
