Vanessa runs a small pepper production company in Putumayo, Colombia, a region that has endured decades of conflict.

When we first met her, she was traveling for hours to sell her products because it was too dangerous to sell them in her own local market.

Through Building Markets’ SER program, Vanessa strengthened her supply chain and packaging, obtained FDA approval, and connected with new buyers. Today, her products are sold in stores across Colombia, and she is beginning to export.

Her business now employs young people and single mothers, creating opportunity that extends far beyond one entrepreneur.

Today, we had the incredible honor of ringing the Nasdaq Closing Bell in the heart of Times Square!

The sound of today’s closing bell marked more than the end of the trading day. It celebrated the determination, resilience, and ambition of the entrepreneurs we serve around the world,

This milestone belongs to all of us. Together, we’re creating more opportunities for small businesses to grow, create jobs, and transform communities around the world.

On November 29, was proud to host the Women Entrepreneurs Festival alongside the Hatay Chamber of Commerce and Industry and ABİGEM Doğu Akdeniz, bringing together more than 90 women-owned businesses from across the region. From food and textiles to handicrafts, beauty, and local manufacturing, the festival was a powerful reminder of what women continue to build, even after unimaginable loss.

For many of the entrepreneurs, this was one of the first opportunities since the earthquake to publicly share their work, reconnect with customers, and feel part of a wider business community again. The atmosphere was one of resilience, pride, and possibility. We are deeply grateful to for making this moment of connection and visibility possible, and for shining a light on the essential role women-led enterprises play in economic recovery and community development.
