Ella is 1 of 40 people in the world diagnosed with Trisomy 12p. At age 9 she is expressing her thoughts for the first time with the help of alternative communication methods. As we sat together I told Ella “I fully believe you can express yourself.” She responded by grabbing my hand while her mother watched with tears in her eyes.
