Our primary mission is to increase the inclusion opportunities of individuals and families with exceptional needs including disabilities by strengthening the capacity of the community. To achieve these goals, CIDA provides family support and inclusive community programs by cultivating

workforce development and non-profit based cooperative projects. CIDA also collaborates with various levels of community stakeholders and partners and uses innovative approaches for the inclusion of individuals with all abilities.

Shout Out to Our Adult Life Skills Students!

Both of our Adult Life Skills classes have now officially graduated, let’s give all of our students a huge round of applause! 👏💜

Today, students continued practicing important independent living skills through grocery shopping and making yogurt parfaits together. From choosing ingredients to preparing food as a team, everyone worked collaboratively and supported one another throughout the activity. 🍓🫐

We are so proud of their hard work, teamwork, growth, and dedication. Watching our students build confidence and life skills together has been truly meaningful. Congratulations to all of our graduates, you are doing amazing!

🚨 Our adult Life Skill program students recently participated in an Emergency Preparedness Workshop led by NYC Emergency Management (NYCEM)!

Students learned important safety skills such as:
✔️ How to create an emergency plan
✔️ When and how to call 911
✔️ What to do during emergencies and extreme weather situations

This was a meaningful and empowering class that helped our students build confidence, safety awareness, and independent living skills.

A big thank you to NYCEM for providing this important training and supporting our community!

Prepare a Go Bag with essentials (IDs, medications, flashlight, chargers)
Stay informed—sign up for emergency alerts and monitor weather updates
Act quickly—if water starts rising, move to a higher floor immediately
