Today, 14 global cities committed to the C40 Good Food Cities Declaration, in order to promote and preserve the health of citizens and the health of the planet. Mayors will work with their citizens to achieve a ‘Planetary Health Diet’ for all by 2030, with balanced and nutritious food, reflective of the culture, geography, and demography of their citizens. Mayors will use their procurement powers to change what kind of food cities buy, and introduce policies that make healthy, delicious and low-carbon food affordable and accessible for all. They’ll also reduce food loss and wasted food.

The cities signing the C40 Good Food Cities Declaration are Barcelona, Copenhagen, Guadalajara, Lima, London, Los Angeles, Milan, Oslo, Paris, Quezon City, Seoul, Stockholm, Tokyo and Toronto. The pledge was made at the C40 World Mayors Summit in Copenhagen

The "Sit to take a stand" movement is a 20 minutes weekly mini-strike which goal is to lower the barriers to participation for the concerned individuals who are not activists at heart (the majority). The impact on each organization and individual is minimal but collectively it sends a powerful signal to elected officials, political and corporate leaders. All the more in an election year. It's also a powerful statement of support to the quasi-unanimous scientist, activists, political and corporate leaders working hard on sounding the alarm and finding solutions.

1. One can sit wherever he / she wants or meet with friends, co-workers or join other movements.
2. One can sit longer than 20 minutes. It's okay if you stand too
3. One can can communicate on social medias with the hashtags along with other movement popular hashtags
4. Earth needs you: Discuss this movement and others with your entourage. Post ideas, comments, pictures on this page.
