Support

Support can take many forms. It can be an introduction, a piece of advice, a shared opportunity, a word of encouragement, or simply showing up when it matters.

At Hellenic Professional Women, Στήριξη is woven into the way we build community. We believe women are stronger when they share knowledge, celebrate one another’s successes, and create space for others to grow.

Sometimes the smallest gesture of support can have the greatest impact. A connection can become an opportunity. Encouragement can become confidence. And one woman choosing to lift another can create a ripple far beyond a single moment.

✨ Membership Monday: Meet Shelly Papadopoulos ✨

This week, we’re proud to spotlight HPW member Shelly Papadopoulos, whose career brings together strategic leadership, nonprofit governance, cultural preservation, and the arts.

Through her leadership with the Hellenic American Women’s Council and the American Women’s Organization of Greece, as well as her work in film, theater, conferences, and cultural programming, Shelly has dedicated herself to amplifying Hellenic voices and ensuring our stories reach new generations.

When asked what HPW means to her, Shelly shared:

“HPW means empowerment, connection and inspiration.”

For Shelly, HPW is a community where women support one another through friendship, mentorship, networking, and service while staying connected to our shared Hellenic heritage and values.

✨ Membership Monday: Meet Dr. Eleni Marcantonis, Psy.D.

This week, HPW is proud to spotlight Dr. Eleni Marcantonis, Clinical Psychologist and President of Manhattan Cognitive Therapy Consultants, P.C. and Overeaters Solutions, P.C.

With 20 years of experience in the mental health field, Dr. Marcantonis is an expert in cognitive behavioral therapy whose career has spanned clinical psychology, forensic psychology, expert testimony, supervision, and consulting.

She earned her Doctorate in Psychology from The Wright Institute and her Master’s degree from Harvard University. Today, her work focuses on helping individuals overcome obstacles, improve their overall well-being, and pursue their personal goals with greater confidence and success.

For Eleni, HPW has become much more than a professional network:

They begin with genuine curiosity.

At HPW, networking is about more than exchanging business cards or adding another contact on LinkedIn. It’s about taking the time to learn someone’s story, asking thoughtful questions, sharing experiences, and discovering where your paths might connect.

Our events bring together Hellenic professional women across industries, generations, and stages of their careers. Every conversation is an opportunity to learn something new, offer support, make an introduction, or simply meet someone you may not have crossed paths with otherwise.

A fine artist with a warm and vibrant spirit, Theodora channels her Greek heritage into everything she creates. Through her paintings, ceramics, textiles, and wallpaper, she offers visual poetry that lives in layers.

As a passionate traveler and cultural explorer, Theodora also leads soul-driven workshops and retreats that inspire others to embrace the world with ageless curiosity, creativity, and play.

For Theodora, HPW represents an opportunity to connect her beloved Greek heritage with her commitment to women’s issues and meaningful professional relationships. She looks forward to connecting with Greek professional women across the country and discovering the inspiration, collaboration, and beautiful synchronicities that can grow from those relationships.
