STEP 1: Be PRESENT for young people
STEP 2: Listen to their DREAMS
STEP 3: Give them a PLATFORM

The TALKING DRUM Theatre Arts Program offers a creative arts medium to service inner-city youth ages through eighteen years of age within the five boroughs of New York City. The program offers year-round educational arts enrichment that addresses pervasive issues common to urban youth. Direct instructional services are provided to students, professionals, and parents through contracts with after-school programs, community-based organizations, and school officials. TALKING DRUM teaching artists individualize the curriculum with program coordinators, teachers, guidance counselors, and additional staff, allowing for a customized program that is age and grade appropriate. Services provided are tailored to specific program goals and budgets. The program’s mission involves:

Providing an educational and enriching platform for young individuals to express themselves through creative arts, which includes dance, drama, art, music, & spoken word. Providing children with the tools of empowerment so they may achieve their full potential.
