The concert features Belongó founder Arturo O’Farrill alongside the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra and BronX BandA, an 11-piece ensemble that transforms the stories and spirit of the Bronx into original music.

We recently partnered with Chase Bank for a financial workshop designed to support artists with the tools, strategies, and knowledge needed to strengthen and sustain their careers.

From budgeting and banking to long-term financial planning, the conversation centered on empowering creatives to build stability while continuing to grow their artistic practice.

At Belongó, we believe artists deserve access not only to creative opportunities but also to the resources that help their work thrive beyond the stage.

Music is more than performance. It’s a way to bring people together.

In this conversation, Arturo O'Farrill shares the vision behind Casa Belongó, a new cultural hub in East Harlem dedicated to preserving the music of the Americas, creating access to the arts, and building community through purposeful engagement.

From free performances and youth education to celebrating the richness of Afro-Latin musical traditions, Casa Belongó is rooted in the belief that music can connect people across backgrounds, generations, and experiences. A place where people from different walks of life can gather, listen, learn, and become part of something larger than themselves.

Arturo speaks about protecting the musical legacy passed down by generations of artists while creating new opportunities for the next generation to grow, perform, and lead.

Belongó’s Senior Social at Riverbank State Park brought together an incredible community for an afternoon filled with live music, dancing, and birthday celebrations honoring our vibrant seniors.

Fiends reconnected, new memories were made, and the dance floor stayed full.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made the day unforgettable. We can’t wait to do it again.

Under the guidance of professional teaching artists and guest mentors, Fat Cats musicians explore improvisation, ensemble playing, and the joy of live performance. Expect bold solos, tight grooves, and fresh interpretations of jazz classics — all delivered with the raw spirit and passion that defines this dynamic youth orchestra.

Founded in 2010 at the legendary Fat Cat jazz club, the program has helped shape over 200 young artists through a rigorous and joyful jazz education rooted in performance and community. Alumni have gone on to attend top conservatories, launch professional music careers, and perform on stages around the world.
