⚽🥁🌎 What a night at DROM! 🌎🥁⚽

Last Friday, BATALÁ NEW YORK brought the rhythms of Salvador, Bahia to the World Cup Music Festival, kicking off an unforgettable evening before the Brazil 🇧🇷 vs Haiti 🇭🇹 match. From the first beat to the final whistle, the room was filled with music, culture, community, and celebration.

A special thank you to Atlanta Amado Music, Matcha + Musings and for joining forces to create a night that showcased the power of global connection through football and music. Together, we celebrated the rich cultures behind the game and turned the watch party into a true international gathering.

To everyone who danced, cheered, and shared the energy with us—thank you! ❤️🖤

The rhythm didn’t stop when the parade ended. 🌊🥁✨

As the 44th Annual The Mermaid Parade came to a end, Corpo de Dança - Cortejo as Yabás brought powerful movement and energy into the drum circle on the shore, closing out the day with a beautiful celebration of community, culture, and rhythm.

What a way to end an unforgettable Mermaid Parade. Thank you to all of the movement artists that blessed us with their support ❤️🖤

Every Batalá New York member remembers their first appearance. ❤️🥁

At the end of a new member’s first performance, we gather for a tradition that marks their passage into the band. They walk through a tunnel of drumsticks, greeted by the rhythm, support, and spirit of the women beside them, before being welcomed at the end by our Music Director.

More than a ritual, it’s a celebration of the journey, the commitment, and the sisterhood that makes this band so special.

Congratulations to our newest members who completed their first performance at the The Mermaid Parade this past Saturday. Axé! ❤️✨

Still mentally on the flight deck of the Intrepid Museum 🚢🥁✨

A huge thank you to IronStrength Community for inviting BATALÁ NEW YORK to bring the rhythm to such an iconic NYC setting. From fitness to percussion, the energy was incredible from start to finish! 💪🏾🔥

We’re grateful to have shared this experience with everyone who joined us on the flight deck overlooking the Hudson.
