Batalá New York is excited to be part of the 13th Annual Spring Awakening — a neighborhood-wide celebration of Earth Day, community gardens, and the season of renewal.

From 2019 to 2025 — here are some beautiful moments from celebrating years of love, rhythm, and community in these streets. 🥁❤️

Batalá New York has proudly been part of this historic Lower East Side tradition for many years, celebrating the deep Puerto Rican and Latino roots that helped shape Loisaida into the cultural heartbeat it is today. Even during COVID, we still showed up virtually for the online festival — because community and culture never stop.

Every year feels like a family reunion filled with drums, dancing, flags, generations, and so much love. Nos vemos este domingo. ✨🔥
