Women's health has long been underfunded, under-researched, and overlooked.
Melinda French Gates announced an additional $215 million investment through Pivotal to advance women's health globally. The funding includes a $40 million grant to Co-Impact to integrate mental health into maternal and primary care (particularly in Africa) and a $10 million grant to The Menopause Society to expand provider education and improve access to menopause care in the United States.
At the Seleni Institute, we see the impact of these gaps every day. Whether it's a new parent struggling with postpartum depression, a couple navigating infertility, or a woman seeking support through menopause, mental health remains an essential and frequently neglected part of healthcare.
Meaningful progress requires investment in research, provider education, accessible care, and evidence-based resources that support women throughout every stage of reproductive life. ๐
We're encouraged to see women's health receiving the attention and funding it deserves and remain committed to ensuring that mental health is part of the conversation.
