Product Managers from Top Companies Discuss PM Role in 2019 - Tuesday, March 19, 6:30 - 8:30 pm, 79 Madison Ave., NYC

Product management has become a common career choice for MBAs entering the tech sector. Graduates without prior tech experience or technical skills but who have the ability to manipulate and analyze data, write user specifications, and prioritize competing objectives have become valuable members of application development teams. However, a “product manager” can be a very different animal from one organization to another depending on many factors such as management approach and methodology, the needs of the product, and resources. In other words, an Amazon PM does not equal a Facebook PM does not equal a Google PM.

Startup Finance: What It Takes to Fund a Business with Dean Hubbard and Entrepreneurs
Thurs., June 21, 6:00-8:30pm at WeWork Bryant Park

The event leads off with a Q & A with Dean Hubbard and CNBC's Power Pitch Panelist Alicia Syrett ('07). The discussion, inspired by Dean Hubbard's blockbuster course that uses a two-pronged approach to the study of entrepreneurial finance, will focus on the financing decisions of entrepreneurs. It will delve into principles of corporate finance, valuation, and coordination and control of firms, with an eye toward developing the tools and concepts of entrepreneurial financial management.

Following the Q & A, four triumphant CBS entrepreneurs will share personal stories of how some of the discussed concepts can be applied in practice. The founders of UNTUCKit, BlocPower, Wandering Bear Coffee, and Ollie will reveal what helped them become the mainstay of the entrepreneurial revolution.
