About SandyHelp.org
SandyHelp.org is a website dedicated solely to helping any and all people in the New York City area in need of help due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy. Our goal is to connect qualified volunteers with the people who need help. We have teams of volunteers ready to help at a moment’s notice, in addition to team leaders who are responsible for carefully planning all volunteer
initiatives. We will be distributing the following items as they become available:
Food
Water
Candles and/or matches
Flashlights
Extra blankets
Priority will be given to people with children and the elderly. Please keep in mind that we are NOT an emergency response organization. About our volunteers:
SandyHelp.org is a partnership with iVolunteer, an organization primarily dedicated to visiting and assisting homebound Holocaust survivors. All volunteers are carefully screened before being taken on. SandyHelp.org is an attempt to extend that volunteer force to help all those who need help in this urgent situation.
