Today marks three years since October 7, and we pause to remember every life taken that day.

At 6:29 this morning, the moment the attack began on October 7, 2023, our Gala Chair and Honorary Board member Scott Rechler (CEO of RXR) stood with people on the beach in Tel Aviv for a moment of silence. In the sand: white figures for the 1,163 people murdered, gold for the 251 taken into Gaza.

Scott shared:

“Shortly after October 7, my partner Jason Barnett and I visited one of the kibbutzim attacked that day. The physical destruction was everywhere, and the grief and pain were still raw. That visit has stayed with me, and standing on the beach this morning brought it back vividly.

No context changes what happened, and no argument excuses it. Moral clarity requires calling it what it was: terrorism and murderous extremism.”

Thank you, Scott, for being in Tel Aviv today and for saying plainly what so many people still won’t. It means a lot to have someone in our community who uses his platform to keep the truth of that day front and center.

We will never forget the lives lost on October 7, 2023.
