After attending countless cocktail parties and social functions over the years on the NYC social scene it dawned on Bridget (founder of Bridget O'Brien PR and Events) that if the people attending such events could focus their time and financial resources on having a good time as well as doing good for others so many people could benefit. She shared these ideas with Tiffany (founder of thenycfashi
onista.com) and soon Cocktails That Care was born! About Us:
Bridget Hanretta O'Brien grew up in Cornwall, NY, a gorgeous suburban Hudson River Valley community 60 minutes north of NYC. As young as 11, Bridget started charity work volunteering at a Center For Independent Living with the Youth Respite Program and at a local animal shelter. This sparked her love for assisting others and animals. All through her life she has stayed connected to causes that are important to her by giving her time and resources to various charitable organizations. Bridget attended college at Fordham University earning a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. She continued her education at Fordham University's Graduate School and then earned a Masters Degree in Education. Bridget wanted her work to make a positive measurable impact on the world so she became teacher in an NYC Public School in the Bronx. While teaching, she founded a PR and Events Firm Bridget O'Brien PR and Events( www.bridgetobrienprandevents.com) that she ran while working full time as a second grade teacher. The business met much success and led to Bridget's continuous involvement in many forms of charity work. Bridget became one of the premiere charity organizers and publicists in NYC as well as helping launch careers and brands of many first class individuals and establishments, all while teaching 25 7 year olds full time in her classroom. In 2010, Bridget decided to take leave from teaching and dedicate her time to her newborn daughter Fallon and husband Frank, her company, Bridget O'Brien PR and Events , and her vast forms of charity work. It is truly her dream to have her own charitable organization, Cocktails that Care which she conceived with the help of her good friend, The NYC Fashionista Tiffany Troiano. With the Cocktail party events Bridget can share her love of event planning while doing charitable works. Bridget can be reached at [email protected]
Tiffany Troiano graduated Susquehanna University '08 with honors from the business program, majoring in Finance. She now works on Wall Street and runs the online designer consignment boutique called The NYC Fashionista that sells 'secondhand designer fashion for first class people.' Founded in 2010, the boutique offers new and gently used fashion forward designer pieces and provides a savvy alternative for women to make extra money on items they no longer use! Tiffany has leveraged her business model to partner with charities to host successful events such as the recent 'Fashionistas for Philanthropy' event held at Goldbar NYC in June 2011 to benefit Save the Children 'Goes Go's' program. She is excited to partner with Bridget O'Brien to create a great cause in which she can apply her business mindset, love for fashion, and network of professionals to aid numerous benevolent purposes!
