*Announcement*: Our next trip to Haiti is coming up! Inviting medical students from all schools to sign up now to teach in Haiti for Anatomy/Biochemistry, Summer 2015!
*TL;DR? Teach Anatomy in Haiti this summer with students from other medical schools, to Haitian medical students. Sign up on our google form!*
The program will take place in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, at Université Quisqueya. This opportunity entails our volunteers teaching this clinical material alongside upper level Haitian medical students, to Haitian medical students who have not yet taken anatomy/biochemistry - it's a paradigm called near-peer teaching that MS4H is currently pioneering in the global health context. It is an opportunity to help design anatomy and biochemistry curricula, contribute to something greater than yourself, and network with other North American and Haitian medical students - people who will be your peers in the global health setting. Volunteers are expected to commit to at least one week (Sun-Sat) between July 5-August 1, 2014. All teaching is in French, however, French or Kreyol speaking ability is GREATLY appreciated but not necessary as there will be translators available. It's a lot of work and it is not a clinical global health opportunity, but it's completely worth it and we'd love for your school to be represented among this year's volunteers.
If interested, please direct all questions to [email protected], DukeMed MS3, and [email protected], Duke Anatomy, and fill out our google sign up sheet below so that we may contact you with more information about the program.
Nous espérons que vous allez nous joindre en Ayiti cet été!
