This year, the Nigel Sylvester Foundation celebrated five years of impact, and we wanted to show up in a big way. So we activated on something bigger than a milestone. We called it The Power of Five.
May is the fifth month and there were 5 weeks in May this year. So for every single week of National Bike Month, we donated 100 bikes to an organization in our community. Because of your donations, your support, and your belief in this mission, here is what we were able to do.
We poured into students at , Cornerstone Community Center with , & ,which is Nigel’s junior Highschool alumni.
Donated bicycles and helmets to to support their summer Youth Bike Jamboree.
We also officially kicked off Switching Gears, our program designed to help young scholars understand the power of biking, not just as transportation, but as a tool for mental health, freedom, and getting outside and living fully.
And this year, we introduced the Brick Community Pledge, honoring three organizations whose commitment to community runs deep. Because real change is built brick by brick, and we see the work you do every single day.
None of this happens without community. A special thank you to , , , and every teacher, staff member, and supporter who made this month possible.
Together, we put 500 bikes and 500 helmets into the hands of 500 young people, right at the start of summer, so they can ride freely, safely, and boldly into what’s next.
This is the power of five. This is the Nigel Sylvester Foundation.
Happy National Bike Month 🚲
