Dalia Carella is a world renowned Master Teacher of both Danse Orientale Belly Dance, Turkish Roman/Dunyavi Roma Dance and Spanish/Arabic Fusion Dance (El Mundo and Flamenco Araby) on the Near/Middle Eastern and Tribal Dance circuits. She is also the Founder and Artistic Director of the Dalia Carella Dance Collective (DCDC), her company, based in New York City. Her dances are both traditional and
contemporary with a spiritual and mystical essence behind each and every dance that she creates. Carella has delved deeply in the studies of dances from the Near and Middle East including Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon, as well as North Africa including Morocco and Algeria, India and Spain. She is known for her unique style of both Danse Orientale (Belly Dance), Turkish Roman and one of her signature dances she created in 1985, Dunyavi Roma Dance. The core of Dalia’s Dunyavi work is extensive research of the Romany trail, focusing primarily on the Roma dances of Spain, India, Turkey. Dalia performs and teaches a second style of Rom dance, “El Mundo and Flamenco Araby" that has evolved from her continuing studies of Middle Eastern, Andalusia and Latin dance influences. Her dance background also includes studies in Flamenco, Indian, Bollywood/Bhangra, Afro-Haitian, Samba, Salsa, Bomba, Plena from Puerto Rico, Tango as well as jazz and ballet
