We are honored to present our keynote speaker for the JUVE Scholarship, the Honorable Edwin I. Novillo. As a judge of the Criminal Court of the City of New York and a supervising judge in Queens County, he has made significant contributions to the justice system. A distinguished member of the Latino legal community in New York, Judge Novillo proudly holds the title of the first individual of Ecuadorian descent to be appointed as a judge in New York City, representing a landmark achievement in diversity and inclusion within the judiciary.

Es un honor presentar a nuestro orador principal para la Becas 2025 de Organización Juventud Ecuatoriana, Honorable Edwin I. Novillo. Como juez de la Corte Penal de la Ciudad de Nueva York y juez supervisor en el Condado de Queens, ha realizado contribuciones significativas al sistema de justicia. Miembro destacado de la comunidad legal latina en Nueva York, el juez Novillo se enorgullece de ser la primera persona de decendencia ecuatoriana en ser designado juez en la ciudad de Nueva York, representando un logro fundamental en diversidad e inclusión dentro del poder judicial.

Anoche fue una noche impactante y JUVE se lució.

Gracias a todos los que nos acompañaron en nuestro evento de JUVE Becas 2025 — una noche dedicada a celebrar la educación, honrar a nuestras madres inmigrantes y defender el derecho de la juventud ecuatoriana y latina a soñar en grande en este país.

Escuchamos historias reales de lucha, triunfo y propósito. Recordamos que la educación no es un lujo, sino una herramienta de resistencia, dignidad y transformación.

JUVE sigue trabajando por nuestra comunidad, con corazón y acción.

Last night was powerful. JUVE showed up and showed out.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our JUVE Becas 2025 event — a night dedicated to celebrating education, honoring our immigrant mothers, and standing up for the right of Ecuadorian and Latinx youth to dream big in this country.

We heard real stories of struggle, triumph, and purpose. We were reminded that education is not a luxury — it’s a tool of resistance, dignity, and transformation.

JUVE continues to work for our community with heart and action.
