Since 2012, Periapsis Music and Dance has occupied a special place in the artistic ecosystem. Our focus is on the choreographer/composer relationship, but with a unique breadth and fullness. Our ensemble continues to develop collaborative work by our resident artists, as well as by commissioned guests. Led by artistic director and composer/pianist Jonathan Howard Katz, our current resident artists
include choreographers Rohan Bhargava and Evita Zacharioglou, and composer/choreographer Annie Nikunen. Choreographers emeriti are Erin Dillon and Hannah Weber, and commissioned guests include Gabrielle Lamb, Seán Curran, Kate Skarpetowska, PeiJu Chien-Pott, Manuel Vignoulle, Janis Brenner, Da' Von Doane, Norbert De La Cruz III, and many more! Creating and performing new collaborative work is the heart of our mission, but we do not stop with our own ensemble. We also support other artists working at the intersection of music and dance collaborate and create. To this end, we've built a range of service programs, from paid performance opportunities and emerging artist residencies to networking events and online resources.
