On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we would like to highlight the FDNY’s Ceremonial and Family Assistance Unit. These dedicated individuals receive phone calls and promptly begin providing assistance to families and coworkers. They handle the logistics with funeral homes, ensuring that families can grieve in peace. For every viewing, funeral, plaque dedication, street renaming, or memorial, there is hours of preparation and work.
No service has had the amount of death that the FDNY has had to deal with. The members of Ceremonial and Family Assistance Unit work to make the grieving’s worst day a little bit better.

Tonight we had the honor to play at the FDNY’s 25 Anniversary of 9/11 Ceremony. Besides the 343 that were killed that day, the almost 500 people who have died from WTC related illnesses were also honored. May They Never Be Forgotten!
