Every girl deserves to manage her period with confidence , not shame.

On the celebration of Menstrual Hygiene Day, Rural Engagement and Empowerment Programme Ghana joined the students and community of Yili to champion open conversations on menstrual health, dignity, and breaking the stigma around periods.

Through our Project, we are empowering girls with knowledge, promoting dignity, and building supportive communities where every girl feels safe, confident, and valued.

One inspiring moment from the engagement was hearing a male participant boldly state, “Menstruation is natural,” reminding us why involving men and boys in these conversations matters. A mother in the community also stressed the importance of educating girls early so they grow up informed, confident, and unashamed of their bodies.

Our biggest : every girl deserves support, dignity, care, and understanding.

Because when a girl understands her body, she is empowered to thrive.

Let’s keep the conversation going. Periods are normal, and dignity matters.

Periods Don't Stop Progress ,Stigma Does

Today, we stand with the global movement for a because every girl deserves to thrive, period.

At Rural Engagement and Empowerment Programme Ghana, our project is on the ground empowering girls with knowledge, confidence, and practical menstrual hygiene skills , breaking myths, ending stigma, and keeping girls in school and in life.

No girl should miss a lesson, lose her confidence, or feel ashamed because of her period.

Together, let's build safe, informed, and supportive communities for every girl and woman.

We are implementing this project in partnership with 100% for Børnene and with funding support from CISU - Civilsamfund i Udvikling

Many children in our communities suffer from preventable tooth decay and gum disease, affecting their health, confidence, and school attendance. Through this project, we will promote better oral hygiene, early detection of dental conditions and timely referrals, helping to reduce pain, absenteeism and stigma among children.

We recently trained these key groups on Menstrual Health Management and the results speak for themselves. Before the training, less than half rated their menstrual health knowledge as high. After the training , nearly all of them did, with every participant confident in correct hygiene practices and committed to open conversations about menstruation in their schools and communities. Almost all also reaffirmed their support for girls staying in school during their period.

As part of our RAMCUP II activities, our team this morning was at ZAA TV GHANA to increase public awareness, shift harmful norms, and promote community-wide support for menstrual health management (MHM), especially around sustainable products, policy entitlements (free pads), and school WASH standards.

This project is in partnership with 100% for Børnene, with funding support from CISU - Civilsamfund i Udvikling
