In December 2010 founder Kim Fraser wife of a US ARMY Sergeant, while always being involved in animal rights and care, was contacted with an urgent request for a loving family for a Pitbull-Boxer mix, Sasha. Army, which is of course Kim's weakness, was on a short notice deployment and was being sent away in mere days. He was having trouble finding a home for Sasha and was nearing the unfortunate r

ealization he may have to put her in a shelter. After hearing about this situation Kim set out to find a family, and knew exactly who to turn to. Co-founder, Brian Kolb, was looking to adopt and within a day Sasha was in his care and our Sergeant was put at ease that she was in a loving home. With the creation of SASHA'S MISSION we are planning on making many more connections like this. Too many times are our service men and women forced to put their beloved pets in a shelter because of a lack of able or willing friends or family to take care of them. With SASHA'S MISSION we will put loving families in contact with military personal being deployed in order to provide a temporary home for their loved one until they return to us from service.

Sweet senior Ameer is still looking for his forever home. From running around scared in Brooklyn to relaxing with blankets, toys and treats in our foster room, Ameer has come alive in our time with him, but we know that Casa Zion is only supposed to be a stepping stone for him. He deserves a house to lounge in, and his own human(s) to spoil him.

Ameer is a catahoula leopard dog, which are known to be intelligent, inquisitive, independent but very loving and gentle dogs. We believe he can be an excellent family dog. When we go on walks, he loves to jog, sniff blades of grass and flowers, and look out onto the bay. When we come home from work, he jumps on his couch and barks his "Hello! I'm glad you're home!" And does a little tap dance of excitement.

He knows sit, paw, lie down and crate (he goes into his crate effortlessly when we need to clean). His favorite activity besides walking is lounging on the couch suckling a blanket or basking in the sun rays from the window.

Ameer is available for adoption in the tri-state area. His adoption fee is waved thanks to a grant we receive and he comes with a super special senior dog care package as well.
