National Chorale

National Chorale New York's premier professional choral organization. Everett McCorvey | Amy Siegler

The Chorale:

-is the only professional choral organization to establish and maintain an annual concert season in a major New York City concert hall for 46 years-Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center.

-has created and presented the Messiah Sing-In every December for 46 years. The Sing-In is a popular holiday participatory music event, with an audience-chorus of 3,000 singers.

-conducts Artist-in-

Residency choral programs in New York's public schools, ongoing for 46 years. Every year, through the Chorale's programs, more than 12,000 children in elementary and high school grades learn to participate in school choirs and develop skills for life-long enjoyment of music.

-partners with the New York City Professional Performing Arts High School to provide singing and vocal repertory, pre-conservatory classes, and ensembles in musicianship and performance skills. Located in mid-Manhattan on West 48th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues, PPAS actively prepares selected gifted and highly motivated NYC high school students for professional careers in the performing arts.

-presents the popular NYC Elementary Middle and High School Choral Festivals, involving choirs from all five boroughs.

✨National Chorale celebrates the incredible women who make the Messiah Sing-In possible—from our gifted soloists and inspiring conductors to the dedicated leaders behind the scenes, the musicians of our orchestra, and the young singers of the PPAS choir.

Hailing from diverse backgrounds, these women are not only performers but also educators, mentors, and leaders, each making a lasting impact on their communities. Whether on stage, behind the scenes, or in the classroom, they inspire future generations and bring people together through the power of music.

As Women’s Month comes to a close, we honor their artistry, dedication, and the unifying spirit they share with us all.✨
