The Gunnery Sgt. John Basilone Foundation 501(c)(3) was founded by his family to ensure the awareness of PTSD among Veterans is recognized and addressed.

John Basilone Foundation was founded to ensure that the awareness of PTSD among Veterans is recognized and addressed. Basilone himself was infamous for always taking care of "his boys". The foundation continues to ensure not only the ideals and the legend of Basilone is shared but also the understanding of the affects of war amongst so many today. His family strives to continue his legacy through their foundation.

Had the honor of being at the Soledad Memorial today February 19th the 80th Anniversary of the beginning of the battle of Iwo Jima and the death of uncle John. Bittersweet - he was honored and a plaque was unveiled at the Memorial. I also was asked to speak on behalf of his family and I also shared stories from the family and my adventures of following his footsteps to all his battlefields. Semper Fi
