Young Adult LIFE (YAL)

Young Adult LIFE (YAL) Each year, thousands of teens and young adults, ages 18 to 21, age out of the foster care system.

For the first time, many of these young people will live on their own without a foster family. They, and many of their peers in the community, are faced with finding places to live. They will have to seek/get employment, continue their education, manage their money, and for some, provide for a family, as well. Young Adult LIFE seeks to help young adults from all circumstances. Young Adult LIFE is

a partnership with local government, individuals, private donors and Lutheran Social Services of New York. This partnership was formed to help foster care young adults (mentees), between the ages of 15-25, make a successful transition into adulthood from adolescence.
