We’ve had a busy week at ELO, and we have lots of exciting updates to share. See below for the latest ELO tea!

⭐ Narwhal: Adopted! He was adopted by our dear friend and fellow rescue advocate, John Bartlett!

⭐ Introducing our NEW Adoption team! Big things are happening at ELO! Mac, May, and Hanna will be leading the charge on adoptions, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead. Growing our team means creating more opportunities to support our fosters, connect with adopters, and help our dogs find the families they’ve been waiting for.

⭐ Norton & Lexi were adopted at our Petco event! Events are about so much more than finding homes. They are some of our favorite days in rescue.

⭐ Caprese is a FOSTER FAIL! He is officially adopted by the very foster mom who gave him a chance. Foster fails will always have our hearts!

⭐ Welcome to the ELO family Shortcake! Shortcake was being fostered through NYCACC, and she’s now officially an ELO girl, along with her foster!

⭐ A few weeks ago, Mylo joined us for a Borough Break, where we got to know his calm, affectionate, easygoing personality. Since then, he’s became at risk due to shelter deterioration and we’re happy to have him safe with us.

⭐ We welcome Xola from QACC. Every time we say yes to a dog who needs us, we create the possibility of an entirely different future. We can’t wait to help her find the loving home she deserves.

⭐ Meet Amber (ID 266456): Currently on Straycation: Amber is spending some time on a straycation with ELO, getting a much needed break from the shelter environment. We’d love nothing more than to turn this temporary getaway into a permanent path by finding her a foster home. Apply on our website to foster Amber.

⭐ SHANGHAI FOUND HER FOREVER FAMILY! Shanghai’s adoption deserves a post all of its own! After 10 months in care we are crying happy tears for the girl who stole all of our hearts.

October is our favorite month, It’s Pit Bull Awareness Month and we’re to show up for the dogs that need us most! We’re kicking off the month with these new members of the ELO crew:

⭐️ Mylo (ID 262858) is a 2 year old boy who is affectionate & playful, but was suffering so much in the shelter. Mylo went on a New Hope Borough Break with our team & when he became at risk for euthanasia a foster stepped up to welcome him into foster care. We can’t wait to get to know him!

⭐️ Xola (ID 256633) is a 2 year old girl who was in the shelter since June living in a pop up crate after being surrendered due to her owner losing housing. Xola is a sweet, energetic girl who has an underbite to die for. We can’t wait to get to know her!

⭐️ Confetti (ID 262462) joined ELO for a Straycation and let’s just say we all fell in love with this big mushy headed girl. Confetti is a giant cuddle bug, who just wants to be with her people. She’s been in care for a few weeks now & we’re starting to see her smile emerge & are so excited for her to find her forever person!

⭐️ Shortcake (ID 265798) is a 2 year old pup who had the biggest advocate in a volunteer who fell in love with her at the Animal Care Centers of NYC & worked to get her into rescue. Shortcake is SMOL, wiggly, low maintenance & dog friendly!  

⭐️ Candy Corn (ID 264569) is a sweet young boy who is 3 years old & 11 lbs. He is settling into foster care and starting to show his sweet personality but one thing is for sure: he’s a cuddle king.

⭐️ Caprese (ID 259316 - adopted!) went from at risk of euthanasia to foster fail inside of 10 days and now he is forever a ELO boy! We are so happy that a chance YES to fostering lead to a lifetime of love.

⭐️ Norton (Community Rescue - adopted!) is a senior boy who was found by an ELO volunteer abandoned. After getting some much needed love and dental care, he was adopted into his forever home!

✨ WEEKLY IMPACT REPORT ✨

Hello October! A new month, a fresh start!

⭐ We had six adoptions this week including Owen, June, Honeybee and Graham
⭐ After being at risk for euthanasia and 3 months in foster care, Mango Lassi has found his forever home!
⭐ Porsha was a FOSTER FAIL! She was adopted by her foster family and we couldn’t be happier for them
⭐ We welcomes Candy Corn, our first rescue of Spooky Season and a New Hope Only little guy who joined us from MACC
⭐ Norton: Our community baby had some much-needed dental care!
⭐ We continue to be so thankful for this incredible, supportive community who shows up for these dogs each day

Our fosters, volunteers, adopters, supporters, and team have rallied together with more energy and determination than ever. Most importantly we continue to show up for the dogs who need us most!

There is so much work to be done, and we’re ready for it. We’re choosing to put our energy where it matters most: saving lives, supporting our fosters, helping families find their soul dog and giving Animal Care Centers of NYC dogs the second chances they deserve.

The community is strong. The mission is strong! Thank you for being part of it!

October is National Pitbull Awareness Month. It’s a chance to educate about harmful stereotypes and share the joy of loving a pittie. For us this advocacy happens not just this month but daily, 24/7.

For some who hear the word pitbull, a stereotype comes to mind before they ever meet the dog.

At Every Last One Rescue, we see something very different.

We see the goofy dogs who make us laugh. The couch potatoes who want to be close to their people. The wiggle butts. The cuddle bugs. The dogs who love their toys more than anything. The sensitive souls who just need someone to believe in them.

And most importantly, we see individual dogs, not a label. That’s why advocacy matters.

We believe education is one of the most powerful tools we have to break the stigma surrounding pit bulls. By sharing their stories, showcasing their personalities, and giving people the opportunity to actually know these dogs, we can challenge the assumptions that cause so many of them to be overlooked.

Because you can’t judge a dog by a label. Meet the dog. Get to know the dog. Let the dog show you who they are.

This Pitbull Awareness Month, help us change the narrative. Share this reel. Start a conversation with a friend looking to adopt. Foster a dog that has been overlooked.
