MusiCan

MusiCan MusiCan is a NYC non-profit that provides music instruction in schools in disadvantaged neighborhoods. Help us bring back the music! Our Vision:
1.

To provide our programs to as many children as possible in New York City schools who would otherwise not have exposure to music.
2. That children involved with MusiCan will enter adulthood believing in themselves as they have developed the personal discipline and collaborative skills needed to succeed in life.
3. To provide MusiCan programs to the New York City public schools with the greatest nee

d, and ultimately have those schools incorporate music as part of their curriculum.
4. To nurture students of all skill levels, foster those who have special talents, and lead them on a path to success through music.
5. To work with MusiCan students, alumni, and supporters who recognize music as a way to help underserved communities and children.
6. To go the extra mile by combining passionate teachers and enthusiastic children to achieve the greatest possible impact on MusiCan students.

Perhaps now, more than ever before, this year’s offers an opportunity to reflect on the power of bringing joy and purpose to New York City children who live in the most fragile of circumstances. We believe that music and music education raises self esteem, improves academics, and connects children to their communities. We have committed to continuing this work during the pandemic.

At MusiCan, we've been inspired by the gratitude and appreciation shown by children who have lost so much. We are humbled by their progress and commitment to their music education.

We hope you will include MusiCan in your plans this so that we can continue our important work helping school children ages 5 to 12 who live in disadvantaged NYC neighborhoods. Thank you for your support.

Thank you to our donors for continuing to support MusiCan. When the children whom we serve switched to remote schooling at the start of the pandemic, we were the only nonprofit to keep providing them with arts programming! We continued to serve them throughout the summer and into September. We are excited to announce that, after a three-week break, our Y2020-2021 remote programs began again last Monday. Thank you again for helping us provide continuous supportive programming to children in need during difficult times! 👊🎹❤️
