Networking in person is 🗝️ for business development, client acquisition and market research.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most physical events have been cancelled. Many of us across the 🌍 are either on lock down or abide to social distancing measures.
☝🏼However, the pandemic cannot last forever. We're all eager to get back our freedom, security and 💰. So, let's start preparing for the aftermath.
Almost everyone is a little nervous about networking. 😅
Working a crowd of strangers👥 that may judge you is a challenge for us all.
☝🏼The secret to overcoming the fear of networking is to set goals, prepare and be yourself.
📌You don't know what to say?
Ask yourself what you are planning to gain from this networking event. Work out🖊️ the goals, prepare two or three opening lines and PRACTICE.
📌You don't know how to approach people?
Either you find a familiar face and team up to network the crowd. Or approach a person standing alone, use your opening lines,👂 listen carefully and respond with a few related questions.
The more networking events you go to, the easier it gets. 🤞🏾
Wear something you're comfortable with. Resist the temptation of scrolling your 📳. Do your research before attending. ⛔ Stop worrying about fitting in. And, work it! 💃🏻💃🏼💃🏾

Men can support women as allies. And when they do, they make headlines‼️
Take for example, CEO Deepinder Goyal. Recently, he announced a 10 day menstrual leave policy for all female and transgender employees 👏🏿👏🏽👏🏻
Deepinder Goyal considers menstrual leave as an important initiative for gender equality. As a forward-thinking CEO of Zomato, India’s leading restaurant information company, he stands in solidarity with women in India and across the 🌍.
Of course, there are critics who consider the terms of women granted leave from her employment if she is menstruating as sexist. 🙄
What are your thoughts?

How much are you worth to your boss?
💰Your salary is based upon how much money you can earn for the company you work for.
If you earn €250,000 per year, you need to create at☝🏻least DOUBLE to triple that much value for the company each year.
Otherwise you are not worth the money or risk. 💁🏾‍♀️
Whether your value is based on experience, 🎓 degree, network connections, special skill or personality - you've got a something unique to offer.
❗So, make sure that you negotiate your salary according to the value you bring in to your employer.

🤔 Why are women across the globe protesting?

🗣️ The main goal of women protests is to achieve equality between men and women:

📍 Equal share in the distribution of power and influence;
📍 Equal opportunities for financial independence;
📍 Equal access to education and the opportunity to develop personal ambitions;
📍 Share responsibilities for the home and children;
📍 Be completely free from violence both at work and at home.

⭐Inspiring Women Go International Series:
Susan Solomon proved to us, how one woman can change the future of the entire planet. 👏👏👏

In the mid-1980s Solomon led expeditions to Antarctica 🏔️ to prove that CFCs, such as those used in aerosols and refrigerants, were destroying the ozone layer.

Solomon's interest in science began as a child watching 💻The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau.

📚 She went on to receive her Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 1981, where she specialised atmospheric chemistry.

🗣️ She said: "“It was exciting to come up with a theory about ozone destruction in 1986 and then, 30 years later, see that we, the people of this planet, have solved the problem."

On 9 August, South Africa celebrates National Women’s Day in honour of the 20,000 women who challenged the apartheid regime. 🙅🏾‍♀️

In 1956, these courageous women marched to the seat of government dominated by white men.

Why? To protest against being forced to carry identity documents that restricted the movement of black people. You see, without ID you could be transferred to farms for unspecified times as, practically, slave labour. 😮
Also, black people weren't allowed to leave the country until Apartheid dissolved. 🙆
And so, 9th August is celebrated as a national holiday and marked as a moment to shine the light on the state of women empowerment in the country. 👏👏👏

⭐Inspiring Women Go International Series:
Jacinda Adern proved to us, how one woman can successfully manage a high-flying career and a family. 👏👏👏

❗She is the prime minister of New Zealand and supports Maori rights, feminism and same-sex marriage.

🎯 Considered as the most effective leader on the planet, her style is focused on empathy. Her messages 📢 are clear, consistent, and somehow simultaneously sobering and soothing.

Adern broke two world records:
☝️She became the world's youngest female head of government at age 37.
✌️In June 2018, she became the world's second elected head of government to give birth to her daughter while in office (after Benazir Bhutto).

😮In 1999, Adern left her job at the fish and chip shop to work full time for the New Zealand Labour Party in the general election.

🗣️ She said: "“I want to be a good leader, not a good lady leader. I don't want to be known simply as the woman who gave birth."

"The threat of violent death for a woman is in fact greatest in her own home.
And her killer is likely NO stranger, NO masked psychopath, but someone who knew her intimately - a companion or former companion, a husband or lover".
✍️Jill Radford, Author of In Femicide
📍
Femicide is a form of hate crime and defines the murder of a woman because of her gender.
