We stand in solidarity with international students in light of recent events. Below are some ways you can help:

As you are aware, on July 6th, 2020, the ICE announced new restrictions and changes to the current SEVIS guidelines regarding F-1 students who are looking to pursue a full online course load in the fall 2020 semester.

We asked 11 illustrators of Asian descent to create a self-portrait, reflecting on their heritage, their stories of immigration and how they identify as an Asian-American.

“Our immersion into the white community, our success in school and now in the workforce, or that we grew up in middle class black household (highly uncommon in Boston), led us to believe that we had somehow transcended the plight of the black man.

Yet, what scared us both so much watching the videos of Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd, is that we clearly had not. In both cases, it could have been us. There is no escape. There is no level of success that will spare you. We are black men, and that is all that matters to some.”

Thoughts going through the head of a guy who doesn’t look like many of his friends.

In light of recent events, we stand with our black and brown siblings.

Letters for Black Lives was started four years ago in the wake of several murders of innocent black people at the hands of police. It provides a framework for Asian-Americans to discuss solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement as well as how we can help dismantle systemic white supremacy.

In commemoration of AHM, PBS’s Documentary on Asian Americans is accessible online for a limited time (until June 9th)! Is anyone up for a watch party?

Part 1: Breaking Ground & a Question of Loyalty: New immigrants from China, Japan, and beyond adapt to life in America, building railroads, impressing in Hollywood, and fighting for equality; the generation of U.S.-born Asian Americans have their loyalties tested during World War II.

Part 2: Good Americans and Generations Rising: Asian Americans fight for equality in the fields, on campuses and in the culture; new immigrants and war refugees expand the definition of Asian American.

Part 3: Breaking Through: At the turn of the new millennium, the national conversation turns to immigration, race, and economic disparity. As the U.S becomes more diverse, yet more divided, a new generation of Asian Americans tackle the question, how do we as a nation move forward together?

"Most Asian American progressives have spent the last few weeks working tirelessly to address the growing epidemic of anti-Asian racism. We have been working to document the attacks, amplify stories of victims and survivors, draw connections to Asian American history, and create resources to support the traumatized...
Andrew Yang has a different take. Implying that Asian American progressives have been overly “negative” in calling out racism, the former presidential candidate wrote a painfully insensitive op-ed yesterday in the Washington Post."

Earlier this week, the FBI released a report detailing the attempted hate crime murder of an Asian American family — including the brutal stabbing of a two-year-old and a six-year-old child &…
