The shooters in the December 2025 Bondi Beach attack were identified by police as a father and son duo, Sajid and Naveed Akram.
Sajid Akram, 50, was fatally shot by police at the scene. He was a licensed fi****ms holder, and all six of his registered guns were believed to have been used in the attack.
Naveed Akram, 24, was wounded and taken into custody; he remains in hospital in critical condition. He was known to the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO), but not deemed an immediate threat.
The attack, which occurred during a Hanukkah event targeting the Jewish community, has been declared a terrorist incident and an act of antisemitism by Australian authorities.

We are delighted to share that the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida has dismissed a lawsuit brought by the South Florida Muslim Federation (SFMF) against Joe Kaufman. The complaint alleged that Kaufman, a counter-terrorism expert and congressional candidate, engaged in discrimination when the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Coral Springs Hotel & Convention Center in Coral Springs, Florida canceled SFMF’s 2024 annual conference.

Kaufman raised concerns about the event’s featured speakers, some of whom he reported had glorified Hamas or spread antisemitic rhetoric, with hotel management and in a published article.

As I said, the court’s decision to dismiss is the right decision. Why should anyone be targeted, harassed, and sued for raising legitimate concerns about terrorist sympathizers speaking in their community? SFMF should have never filed this complaint let alone thought it was acceptable to host an event that featured pro-Hamas sycophants.

The court found that SFMF lacked standing to seek injunctive relief under federal anti-discrimination law and failed to plausibly allege intentional race-based discrimination or conspiracy.

“I want to thank The Lawfare Project and my attorneys Ken Turkel and David Hayes of Turkel Cuva Barrios for defending me in this case,” said Joe Kaufman. “My intention was to raise legitimate concerns about an event with proposed speakers who spread anti-Jewish hate and glorify terrorism. I am relieved that this matter has been resolved and grateful to those who stood by me throughout the process.”

These individuals were portrayed as martyrs and heroes, with their photographs prominently displayed in the publication to glorify their involvement in the attack and inspire potential recruits.

The emphasis on their national origins and the use of images serves as a powerful propaganda tool designed to project a sense of international unity and commitment among IS's ranks while reinforcing the group's ideological messaging about sacrifice and religious martyrdom.

Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabalya Was a Hamas Military Base
Senior Hamas operatives were running the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabalya in Gaza, IDF investigators learned during interrogations, the N12 news website reported Thursday. Lt. (res.) D said that the terrorists arrested at the hospital all pointed to the hospital director. "We understood that the person at the very heart of the event, orchestrating the terror and Hamas activity in the compound, was the hospital director himself." During the raid on the hospital, hospital director Dr. Hussam Abu Safiyeh was "strutting around like a peacock" and was "confident he wouldn't be arrested, believing he was untouchable and in control of the situation."
Lt. D, an IDF field investigator, explained that his "unit has a technological and intelligence system that can clearly distinguish between civilians and terrorists." Master Sgt. (res.) G said, "Every Hamas terrorist we interrogated confirmed that the Kamal Adwan Hospital is their military base: it's where they regroup, store their weapons, and manage the intelligence they gather. Some of the hospital rooms have been converted into Hamas operational rooms."
The hospital did not even really function as a hospital. "It was made to look like a hospital, and patients were brought there just for appearances. In reality, there are entire sections meant solely for the entry of Hamas terrorists." (Jerusalem Post)
