It’s been a busy month for the Hibernians throughout our state celebrate St Patricks Day and Irish American Heritage Month. Our divisions in Charolette, Greensboro, Raleigh, Wilmington and South Port were hard at work spreading our culture and faith.

They will be featuring a different Irish American each day of the month as well as hosting webinars on Irish American History.

Congratulations to the brothers of the Ancient Order of Hibernians - Wake County NC - Governor Thomas Burke Div 1 and their new Irish Pipe Band An Gorta Mor Memorial Pipe Band. The brothers of this division helped start this band in March 2020 and they got to March in their first Raleigh St. Patrick's Day Parade last week.

Brother Dennis O'Brien did a fantastic job talking about the the name of the band An Gorta Mor Memorial Pipe Band and the mission of the band.

Today is World Down Syndrome Day. The date of 3-21 represents the 3rd copy of the 21st chromosome.

When we had our NC AOH State Convention in Wilmington, NC brother Francis Reck spoke about Bitty & Beau's Coffee. This business primarily employees people with Down Syndrome and other disabilities. This is a wonderful concept that gives these people that can feel so marginalized a sense or worth. They have a community room which they let local organizations use for meetings and this is where our state convention planning meetings where held.
