Please join us in celebrating our incredible Community Wellness Coordinator on earning their Master of Social Work from Hunter College Silberman School of Social Work! 🎓

Jayleen brings compassion, wisdom & and an unwavering commitment to our community into their work. Whether supporting a neighbor, welcoming someone through our doors, or helping people navigate life’s challenges, Jayleen has a remarkable gift for making others feel seen, heard & cared for. (They are also a Girls Club alum! 💓)

Last week, we had the joy of celebrating this milestone at a graduation party alongside friends, family, colleagues and community members who have witnessed the impact of their work firsthand. We are also thrilled to congratulate Jayleen on receiving a well-deserved Citation from the office of New York State Assemblymember, Keith Powers, in recognition of their dedication & service.

Happy Pride to our LGBTQ+ youth, families, staff, alumni, and community members! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Throwing it back to a GC Pride Party hosted by ! Students gathered to learn about the history of Pride, create their own collaged Pride flags, enjoy ice cream, dance together, and celebrate the many identities and experiences that make our community special.

As we celebrate Pride month, we’re reflecting on moments like these and the importance of creating safe spaces where young people can show up as their full selves. At the Girls Club, we are committed to fostering a community rooted in belonging, self-expression, respect & JOY! 💓

Calling all rising 5th graders, middle schoolers, and high school students! ☀️ Join us this summer for FREE programs filled with art, STEM, sewing, fashion, music, theater, dance, design, hands-on projects, field trips, and so much more.

📅 July 6 – July 31, 2026
⏰ 10 AM – 3 PM daily
➕ Optional late afternoon classes until 5 PM

Chef Al’s ( ) Taste Bud’s class has been taking a delicious journey through doughs from across the world!

Students made pão de queijo while learning about cassava flour from Brazil! They have explored masa and made arepas, as well as kulcha, a stuffed Indian bread!

Through cooking, tasting and learning together they are discovering the stories, ingredients and traditions behind foods from different cultures. 💜
