During its meeting with donors and international partners, the National Commission for the Missing and Forcibly Disappeared emphasized that implementing its 2025–2030 Strategy requires sustained partnerships that go beyond financial and technical assistance to include institutional cooperation and political and diplomatic support. Such cooperation is essential to facilitating access to relevant information and records and enabling the Commission to fulfil its mandate effectively and independently.
The Commission expressed its appreciation to Embassy of Switzerland to Lebanon and Syria, the International Committee of the Red Cross (International Committee of the Red Cross Lebanon), the International Center for Transitional Justice ((ictj) المركز الدولي للعدالة الانتقالية), and the International Commission on Missing Persons (International Commission on Missing Persons - ICMP) for their financial, technical, and institutional support, as well as to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP Lebanon) for its implementation support.
These partnerships aim to strengthen sustainable Lebanese national capacities, enabling the Commission to advance efforts to clarify the fate and whereabouts of missing and forcibly
disappeared persons and give effect to their families’ right to know.
