The second honoree at our annual gala is Dr. Aime Manzi.
Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2008 while still in primary school, he has lived with the condition for over 18 years. He has received glucose sensors through the Diabetes Empowerment's CAPT1D (Continuous glucose monitoring Amongst Patients living with Type 1 Diabetes in Rwanda) study, and has used this experience to advocate for greater glucose sensor access in Rwanda.

Driven by that personal experience, Dr. Manzi pursued medical education at the University of Rwanda, where he earned his medical degree in 2022. He is currently furthering his expertise through a Master's degree in Epidemiology, strengthening his capacity to drive evidence-based advocacy and impactful healthcare programs.

Happy Giving Tuesday!

Right now, our Better Basal Insulin Support Initiative is providing life-saving insulin to underserved adults who would otherwise go without. But the need continues to grow, and we can only reach as many people as our resources allow.

Through our Better Basal Insulin Support Initiative, your donation helps provide consistent access to the long-acting insulin people need for stable blood sugar control. You're also supporting the education and ongoing care that empowers people to manage their diabetes with confidence.

Before this Giving Tuesday ends, will you help us ensure more people with insulin-treated diabetes have the opportunity to thrive?
