DJ Jon Quick's Beauty and the Beat Heroines of Excellence Awards DJ Jon Quick’s Heroines of Excellence Awards Fundraising Event Founded in 2010, this awards show/party has two purposes. 1.

to honor women of color who through hard work have become undeniable shooting stars in their respective industries and 2. to raise money for worthy charities/causes. Past honorees include Black Girls Rock! Founder and CEO, Beverly Bond, Maxim beauty and actress Rochelle Aytes, Al Jazeera News Anchor Richelle Carey, Bravo TV's "Blood, Sweat & Heels" star Chantelle Fraser, the Honorable Judge Shawn

dya Simpson, international supermodel Maya Haile and celebrity tv/radio medical consultant Dr. Yael "Dr. V" Varnado.
