Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday for the opening of “Datos Helados | Soft Tidal,” an exhibition by Federico Bolagno-Romero and Mathías Chumino, curated by Will Rubenstein and with an amazing set of opening night performances by Daren Ho, Imminent Death, and Yellow Tears.

The exhibition will remain on view through Saturday, June 27th. Stop by the gallery during public hours to see (and hear!) this sculptural and media installation that traces data as liquid matter across the Hudson and el Río de la Plata, estuaries that share a condition of irreversible mixing.

The exhibition is part of the artists’ broader Datos Helados project, a series of site specific projects that treat data as a force with agency: capable of settling, eroding, and transforming.

See links in bio for more photos from the opening and to read about the show.

Earlier this month, CUE and .space co-hosted d̶i̶r̶t̶ 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩, a new dinner work by in Pittsburgh. Presenting an iteration of the artist’s series “Fruits of passing (remains from home)” and a menu of 10 courses that drew from histories of accident, spoilage, and contamination, the work acted as an ephemeral set of relations to land across geographies and over time.

Each course incorporated ingredients that we have learned to distrust, with the menu becoming a site for speculation on the practices that have shaped what we consider to be either palatable or objectionable. Through vocabularies of refusal and relation, the work reconsidered our prevailing conceptions of value and sustenance.

Join us on Saturday, May 2nd, for d̶i̶r̶t̶ 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩, a new dinner work by Tsohil Bhatia () co-presented with Peel (.space) in Pittsburgh, PA. The meal will be followed by a set from multi-disciplinary DJ, artist, and designer Formosa (.exe).

Guests gather for a shared eight-course meal in which the table becomes a site for speculation on the practices that have shaped what we consider to be either palatable or objectionable.

Drawing upon ingredients and methods that have existed for centuries— ash, clay, salt, grain; fruit, char, fermentation— the menu acts as a set of relations to land across geographies and over times. Recipes carry evidence of the propositions of the land. They draw from histories of accident, spoilage, and contamination, often incorporating ingredients that we have learned to distrust.
