Our Administration continues to lead the way in ambitious climate action. This month, we announced $20 billion in awards under the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund – made possible by President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act – to stand up a national network that will fund tens of thousands of climate and clean energy projects across the country.

At least 70% of these funds will be invested in low-income and disadvantaged communities. And this unprecedented investment will support a wide range of climate and clean energy projects – which will help lower energy costs for families and improve housing affordability.

Collectively, the selected applicants have committed to reducing or avoiding up to 40 million metric tons of carbon pollution annually over the next seven years – further advancing our Administration’s historic climate goals.
