Twenty five years ago today, everything changed.
Firefighters ran into buildings everyone else was running out of. Families were shattered in a single morning. New York, and the world, was never the same.
What followed was something we still carry with us: proof of what happens when a community refuses to abandon its own. Strangers became rescuers. Neighbors became family. A wounded city stood back up, together.
That is the promise we carry forward at Street 2 Street. Every day, we work with young people that the world has too often written off, and we show them they belong to something bigger than themselves. That someone is in their corner. That they matter.
Twenty five years later, the lesson still holds. Real strength is not standing alone. It is showing up for each other, especially when it costs something.
We remember today, and we keep building tomorrow.
