How can we foster meaningful dialogue when challenging perspectives emerge?

Our Fall 2026 Connect Program Fellows share tips from their facilitation practice on building meaningful, impactful dialogue, navigating challenging conversations with curiosity, and creating space for everyone to feel heard.

Oya draws on experience in international relations, NGO leadership, and connecting with people from around the world. Eleonora combines her work as an EU proposal Expert Evaluator with volunteering in diverse communities. Both have grown in their roles as Coaches, Expert Facilitators, and Trainers.

As part of the Connect Program Fellowship, Eleonora and Oya bring their facilitation expertise, dedication, and passion while contributing to resource development, program implementation, and shared learning across Soliya’s community.

In an AFS Alumni Spotlight, Soliya CEO Cameron M. Chisholm reflects on the intercultural experience that shaped his path—from building meaningful connections in the new country to strengthening a lifelong commitment to peacebuilding.

💬 “In many ways, leading Soliya as part of the AFS family feels less like a new chapter and more like coming home,” Cameron says. “What I am most proud of is not a particular title or project. It is knowing that somewhere, someone is seeing another person differently because of a conversation or experience that I helped make possible.”
